Why
support the Gardens?
St. Cloud
is proud of beautiful Munsinger and Clemens Gardens, part of the
city park system. Their constant use demonstrates how much people
respond to the beauty they offer. Thousands of guests visit the
gardens each week. They do not come solely from St. Cloud or even
from the area; the gardens are proud hosts to state, national,
and international visitors.
In a tradition
followed since Joseph Munsinger was the first park superintendent,
there are no gates or admission fees; spring to fall the gardens
are available to all for however long or however often they want
to visit. Many individuals and organizations have acknowledged
their affectio= n and appreciation for Munsinger with memorial
gifts. And it is only through the exceptional and ongoing generosity
of the Clemens family that the six areas of the upper garden have
been designed and constructed over the last ten years.
However gardens
of the caliber of these are expensive; the numbers of visitors
they welcome leads to much wear. And on the whole the financial
outlay is considerable for a city the size of St. Cloud. Therefore
Munsinger Garden and the Clemens Gardens seek friends and patrons
who are willing to show their appreciation with a donation to
keep them thriving in the new century. In turn, members will receive
the Green Book, opportunities for guided garden tours and social
events, a discount card for use in the gift shop, and a quarterly
newsletter to keep them informed about what's up in the gardens.
New this year: the American Horticultural Society's Reciprocal
Admissions Program, which allows access to beautiful public gardens
across America to participating members. Become a Member of the
Munsinger Clemens Botanical Society!
